Permitted use
You may use 2FAOTP for lawful personal or business purposes involving accounts and authentication material you own or are explicitly authorised to manage. You may not use it to facilitate unauthorised access, evade security controls, disrupt the service, or harm another person.
No account-recovery service
2FAOTP generates a code only when supplied with the correct secret and configuration. It cannot discover a missing secret, bypass two-factor authentication, recover an external account, or verify your identity to another service.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for protecting your devices, secrets, recovery codes, passwords, and account sessions; verifying that you are using the intended domain; keeping device time accurate; and maintaining an independent recovery method. Do not treat a web utility as the sole permanent copy of a critical authentication secret.

The service and editorial material are provided on an as-available basis. Security guidance is general information, not legal, compliance, financial, or professional consulting. Features, external standards, and third-party services can change.
